Freddie Munoz
Born and raised in San Angelo, Texas with my mother and sister I grew up attending San Angelo Catholic School, Cornerstone Christian School and Central High School. I loved living in Texas with all of my great family and friends but realized that I needed a change. In the Summer of 2007 I moved to Yakutat, Alaska, after my family who lives in the village invited me. It was a huge culture shock going from over a hundred thousand people to less than a thousand people with no cell service and no roads out. After working hard the summer of 07 I fell in love with the outdoors and a new world opened up. I decided that I should attend the high school for my senior year. I graduated from Yakutat High School and became an Alaskan resident and soon after enrolled at the University of Alaska in Juneau. So far since I have attended the University I traveled to Peru, through an anthropology and Spanish class, and now I am attempting Denali with the Outdoor Studies Program. I am very excited, this is the most challenging thing I have ever attempted and am looking forward to the challenge. We are a very strong group and I know we will all do great.

Acacia Edmiston
I was born and raised with my six siblings in East Tennessee. I graduated from Maryville High School in 2007, where I was involved in many different athletic programs. I am in my third year at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Ecopsychology. I am currently on National Student Exchange at the University of Alaska Southeast and will return to UT in the fall. I have always had a passion for the outdoors especially hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and rafting. Most of my outdoor activity has been in the Appalachian Mountains, so when I was presented with the opportunity to live and study in Alaska I was extremely excited to say the least. After our climb I plan to return to Tennessee this summer and work as a guide hiking, backpacking, and rafting.

Sammy Becker
I was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska.  I graduated from Wasilla High school in 2009.  Before enrolling in the Outdoor skills and Leadership program I was an avid athlete.  I have always loved the outdoors, and I am very passionate about environmental ethics.  Denali will be my first big mountain and I hope to continue climbing.  After this climb I will be working in Juneau during the summer, and in the fall I will return to UAS to continue my bachelors degree in Outdoor Studies.

Travis Haskin was born and raised in Kenai, Alaska.
